Becoming a Member
Ready to Call Greater Emmanuel Home?
If you’ve visited us and felt like you belong, we would love for you to take the next step and become part of our church family. Membership here is more than a name on a roll, it’s joining a community that will walk with you through every season of life.
What Membership Looks Like
At Greater Emmanuel, we believe church membership is a sacred commitment. As a New Testament church, we are a body of baptized believers, united under the headship of Christ, who covenant together to grow in faith and serve one another.
When you join, you’re not just attending, you’re becoming part of a family that will pray for you, serve alongside you, and hold you up when life gets hard.
How to Join
1. Come Forward Membership begins with a decision to follow Christ and join our church family. You are welcome to come forward during any worship service to make that step.
2. Baptism (if needed) We hold Baptismal Service on the second Sunday of each month, following our Worship Service. If you have not yet been baptized, our pastor and deacons will walk you through what that means and when you can be baptized.
3. New Member’s Orientation All new members attend our New Member’s Orientation, offered in four sessions on Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m., the same time as Sunday School. These sessions cover the meaning of church membership, our beliefs, our history, and how to get plugged into ministry life here.
4. Get Connected Once you’ve completed orientation, we’ll help connect you to a ministry that fits your gifts and interests, whether that’s serving on a hospitality team, joining a choir, or getting involved in outreach.
A Word on Commitment
Church membership means something special to us. Every member has a role and a purpose in the life of the church, and we take seriously the trust you place in us as you take this step. We’re honored to walk it with you.
